Emily Blincoe was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Emily doesn't have education in photography before her career in photography. At first, photography was a hobby but, quickly it became her career. She is not married and she has no children, if you don't count her dog Eleanor. Her clients include Target, Chipotle, Adobe, Verizon, LG, and DSW just to name a few.
Emily’s photographs are satisfying and sometimes humorous. She seems to be obsessed with arranging different objects into patterns based on color, size, or shape. Her photographs consist of everyday objects such as various candy items, rocks, toys, and many other things. Emily also takes portraits. Her portraits are fun and colorful.
Emily’s philosophy is to experiment and try everything. This way of thinking is obvious in her work s she experiments with burning, dying, melting, cracking, and arranging everyday household items. She also says to never let anyone label you based on the pictures you take. She says her arrangement series is about making things for yourself. “Do what you love and do what feels right for you.” -Emily Blincoe
I think that my photos are quite similar to Emily's photos. I was able to get the setting mostly right. The pretzel picture was challenging because I'm pretty sure she was using blue paper as the background but, I couldn't find any blue paper so I had to edit it in. It doesn't look as good as her but, it's acceptable. For the cereal picture we only had fruit loops at home so, I used those. The cereal that I had also lacked some of the colors that she used but, I had the basic colors. I think I got the picture with the matches almost identical to Emily's.
I took the picture of the matches in natural light. This picture was challenging because the heads of the matches would break off and disturb the pattern. I also had trouble making the pattern because sometimes I would burn the match too much and other times too little. This picture was also fun to shoot because I like playing with fire. I also almost burnt myslef multipul times.
